Challenge Scenario

The mining industry is known worldwide for its highly risky and hazardous working environment. Technological advancement in ore extraction techniques for the proliferation of production levels has caused further concern for safety in the industry.

Production volumes have also grown steadily during the recent periods. Therefore, sudden enhancement in production levels generate an increase in concern regarding safety scenario of these mines. Nevertheless, adverse working conditions and technological advancements cannot solely be blamed for incidents taking place at the working sites.

There is a prevalence of uneven coverage of large areas, despite certain areas covered with CCTV for surveillance, and others with manual posts / patrolling. These are costly as well as partially effective solutions.

Profile of the End-User

Currently, security guards are deployed in static posts at vantage points and supplemented by roving patrols and response teams. Also, CCTV cameras are installed at select critical and high-risk areas to complement the deterrence, detection, prevention and investigation of potential security incidents. These cameras are monitored from a central control room by operators & supervisor team.
